Bill Butcher is seven feet tall, has seven teeth and loves the freedom of riding his custom Harley down an endless road - assuming there’s beer on the way. He’s never started a fight but he’s ended quite a few. Bill understands engines. Women, not so much. So when Nellie Florentino enters his life, Bill is conflicted and confused. Nellie, on the other hand, knows what she wants and will make sure Bill knows it, too. Men need a little prompting, and sometimes a little percussive maintenance. Nellie will throw in her heart for free.

Now they’re on the road with a mission to claim Bill’s family legacy. All they have to do is travel two thousand miles in three days while fending off mercenaries, goons and a wanna-be evil genius.

Bill and Nellie are in for the fight of their lives - and not just with each other…

If you don't like expletives, sex, beer, or characters that are so silly they remind you of your closest friends and relatives, don't read this. But if you want to stay glued to a story for as long as it takes to tip a tall one and ride cross country on the back of a motorcycle while dodging a mess of bad guys and engaging with all the people your mom doesn't even want you to know about--read this. This was so much fun, I actually pushed away a thoughtful Louise Erdrich novel I'd checked out from a bonafide library to pick it up. It's all the witty metaphors, crazy plot twists, action, romance, and bromance the author could dish out in what should be the first of a four-part trilogy. Not for the prudish, anyone looking for beautiful characters (because almost everyone in the book is ugly) or anyone who can't fit their tongue firmly on the inside of their cheek (facial or derriere). I can't want for the sequel.

Bill the Biker An Odyssey edition by Robert Jablon JP Villalobos Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

A fun and interesting story, with a great descriptive narrative which seems as if you are watching a film as you read on. One of my favorite reads this year, clever and entertaining.
cleverly written satire with grotesque characters that turns into a mystery/love story and a page turner. We come to care about what happens to the protagonist and eagerly waiting for a sequel.
In Jablon and Villalobos’ debut novel, they seek to recapture the spirit of 2010 when people had a sense of humor about adventure and greasy food. Everything you ever wanted in a novel. Plus a few laughs to wash it all down. Eat up and enjoy! You won’t regret it!
This book is what might happen if Neil Gaiman, Woody Allen, Kurt Vonnegut and Tom Robbins got drunk and wrote a book together. In other words, it's a fabulous romp through an insane world of mayhem, fun and unpredictable twists, turns and belches. This book is already a movie in my head and I expect it to show up on the big screen before too long. You couldn't ask for a better summer read. Except to ask Mr. Jablon, "Next novel, please!"
This tale of a biker's bizarre odyssey to claim a diner left him by his late mother is so full of oddball characters they practically spill out from the page. So many laugh-out-loud moments I don't know where to start. Not for the faint of heart but a very entertaining read.
Ok, I guess teaming up with that J.P. Villalobos must have ignited the laugh machine. This book is so well written with quips and side antic statements that color the scenes it paints that it leaves any attempt by others to come close in the dust. Soon you are thinking in the middle of the second chapter that this is written by an author that has been on the Best Seller List many, many, times. Outstandingly funny and gets to a point where it just gets better. Soon you are hooked. If this does not become the best seller as acknowledged from those penis-brained idiots at the New York Times, then guess what? That system of what is a "best seller" opinion is beyond broke. Buy Bill the Biker next. It will split your gut and have you laughing. God knows we need laughter in this day and time. Bill the Biker delivers. all I can say is when is the next book due out? This book should be at a $19.95 threshold. A+++.
