An insightful look into the ties between hypnotism and some very every day activities. Although the concept of being hypnotized against our will sounds scary at first, the book educates us on how to recognize and defend ourselves in some ordinary situations. An easy read that could be done on a afternoon but opens a world that could be explored future whether it be the area of stage craft or sales strategies. I left it at a 4 due to some typos but the ideas behind the book is pretty fascinating. From the stage magicians of old to modern advertising, Chong takes a subject that many of us have experienced but haven't identified.
I'll admit I was skeptical at first but this book was truly an eye opening experience. It's easy to read and it's chocked full of goodies, the author teaches even within the stories and helps the reader learn at a deep level how to become more persuasive as well as how to not get duped by anybody. This book was funny, smart, and to the point.
Highly recommended.
A friend lent me this book. It's a really fantastic read. A focused, to-the-point account on how our minds work and how we go about our days. Our thinking really does decide whether we are happy or unhappy. If we change our minds, we can change our situation. That's what this book talks about. Having control over things, facing the problems of life and how we deal with them best. I felt reassured, calm, and collected after reading this book. The author speaks to you as a friend. It isn't overly technical as to be off-putting. It is a strong voice, it's together and caring. I highly recommend this book for someone who is looking to change the way they approach aspects of their lives. Are we hurting ourselves by our thoughts? Are we thinking the wrong things? This book speaks on these topics, along with so much more!
